An update to our real-time periodic sampler with multiple modes of operation. This new version allows for input voltages between 0V to 14V. It makes use of a DC-DC step-up converter to power an overvoltage protection circuit. It transmits the sampled ADC data to a PC via UART and it makes use of a 16x2 LCD display with a hardware-based delay turn-off circuit.

It is equipped to save voltage samples into permanent EEPROM memory for later retrieval and can also transfer voltage samples to a PC for real-time monitoring.

The remote battery level monitoring system enables real-time monitoring of a device's battery level via a web server using Wi-Fi. When the battery falls below a predefined threshold, the system automatically initiates charging, ensuring uninterrupted operation. This module takes data samples from multiple ADC channels on the PIC18 micro-controller and sends the data to a computer or mobile device using a bluetooth module. I was using it to monitor the voltage levels on a solar charging unit. The module runs continuosly and takes samples at regular intervals. The data is then processed a the PC using Python.

The sun is by far the most important object in our sky because it is responsible for almost all activities here on earth. Solar panels are quite fascinating and are the right step towards a green and sustainable world. This is a short review of the 12V solar battery charger circuit i was using to charge NIMH or lead-acid batteries. The solar charger is connected to the PIC18 data sampler to help measure and monitor the battery voltage levels.
